Prof. Ts. Dr. Mohd Nasir Mohd Desa is a distinguished academic and researcher in health sciences at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). He earned his bachelor's degree in microbiology from the University of Arizona, USA, followed by a Master of Medical Science and a Ph.D. in medical microbiology from the University of Malaya, Malaysia. He had served as the Head of Laboratory for Halal Science Research, Head of Biomedical Science Department and Director of Halal Products Research Institute at UPM. Currently, He serves as a Professor at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UPM, where he focuses on teaching and research in medical microbiology. He has collaborated extensively with researchers across disciplines, resulting in a substantial body of work that bridges microbiology, biotechnology and Halal science. Notably, he is a registered Professional Technologist (Ts.) in biotechnology with the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT). Throughout his career, he has contributed significantly to the scientific community, authoring numerous publications, advancing scientific knowledge with practical implications for public health and Halal product verification.
Dr. Andi Asrifan, S.Pd., M.Pd. is a senior lecturer in the Doctoral Program in English Language Education at the Graduate School of Universitas Negeri Makassar (UNM), Indonesia (unm.ac.id). With a Doctor of Education in English Language Education, he has demonstrated a consistent commitment to advancing research in English as a Foreign Language (EFL), digital pedagogy, and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in language instruction. Dr. Asrifan previously served as Head of the Institute for Cooperation and International Affairs at Universitas Muhammadiyah Sidenreng Rappang and continues to collaborate across academic institutions, both nationally and internationally, actively. Over the past two years, Dr. Asrifan has led several research initiatives focused on AI-driven curriculum development, bilingual education in Southeast Asia, and digital parenting in urban Indonesia. He is frequently invited as a keynote speaker at international conferences and serves as a reviewer and editorial board member for various Scopus-indexed journals. His publications have appeared in high-impact outlets and span the disciplines of education, linguistics, and cultural studies.
Dr. Makhyan Jibril A. is a cardiologist specializing in electrophysiology at Seotomo General Hospital, Surabaya. A recipient of the UK Alumni Award for Science and Sustainability (2022), he holds advanced degrees in Healthcare Management and Entrepreneurship from University College London and an MBA from Quantic Business School, USA. With over 30 research publications and extensive experience in health policy and public communication, he has served in key national roles within the Ministry of Health Indonesia and as a COVID-19 spokesperson for East Java. His work bridges medicine, innovation, and public health transformation.
Dr. Farooq Anwar with PhD in Analytical Chemistry from NCEAC, Jamshoro has more than 24 years of research experience at national and international level. He has earned two Post-Doctoral fellowships including from University of Lethbridge, Canada (2007-08) and Universiti Putra Malaysia, Malaysia (2010-11). He also served as Associate Professor at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University (PSAU), Al-Kharj, Saudi Arabia for almost three years (2014 to 2017). Professor Anwar has served as Director Office of the Research Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC) during 2018-2023 and Director Institute of Chemistry during 2017- 2023 at University of Sargodha (UOS), Pakistan. He is a Professor of Analytical Chemistry at University of Sargodha (UOS), Sargodha, Pakistan since 2017. Currently, Dr Anwar is engaged as a Professor at Faculty of Food Science and Technology, Universiti Putra Malaysia, Serdang, Malaysia. In addition to involvement in different funded research projects as Principal Investigator (PI), he has supervised 15 PhDs, 72 MPhil and 111 MSc research students. He has published mora than 310 publications with 36,200 Google Scholar based Citations (h-index 93, i-10 index 224); 19,700 Scopus indexed citations (h-index 75); 28,000 Research gate based citations (h-index 87) to his credit. He has also authored 21 Book chapters and one Book with foreign publishers.
Dr Anwar has been enlisted as Productive Scientist of Pakistan (PCST) and Fellow of the Chemical Society of Pakistan (CSP). He has also been awarded Dr. Atta-ur-Rehman Gold Medal/Prize-2010 (Chemistry) by Pakistan Academy of Sciences (PAS). He has also been awarded TWAS Young Affiliate Fellow (2009-14) by World Academy of Sciences (TWAS), Trieste, Italy. He has also been awarded Research Excellence Award -2018 by PSAU, Saudi Arabia. He has also been enlisted among Worlds 2% top scientists by Elsevier BV Stanford University, USA for the year 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 based on "Updated science-wide author databases of standardized citation indicators. Prof Anwar has also been awarded Research Fellowship by Shinawatra University, Pathum Thani, Thailand for the period 2024- 2027.
Dr. Pothiyappan Karthik is presently an Associate Professor and Head at the Department of Food Technology, Karpagam Academy of Higher Education (Deemed to be University), Tamil Nadu, India. He has done Ph.D. in “Food Technology” at CSIR-Central Food Technological Research Institute (CFTRI), Mysore, India. He has grown academically as B.Tech. (Biotechnology) from Bharathidasan University and M.Tech. (Food Technology) from AC. Tech., Anna University. He has work experience in Post-Doctoral Fellow at School of Food Science and Biotechnology, Zhejiang Gongshang University, China in collaboration with University of Leads, UK. He has received the prestigious CSIR-Senior Research Fellowship (SRF) from CSIR, Govt. of India for his doctoral work, Young Scientist Award from IMRF Reg. from Regd with Govt. of India NITI Aayog NGO Darpan and NESA Scientist of the Year Award-2023 from National Environmental Science Academy, New Delhi. In addition, he got international research travel grant to attend the conference at Australia, 2015 by SERB-DST, CICS and DBT, Govt. of India. He has also a recipient of a funded major research project Rs. 75 Lakhs from DST, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India. His research interests include Food Nanotechnology, Food Engineering, Food colloids, Encapsulation of bioactives, Biopolymers, Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals.
The research accomplishments include 2649 citations with 16 h-index and a cumulative impact factor of 130. He has published more than 30 articles in peer-reviewed international journals and publishers, 15 book chapters, granted international patents (Germany and China) and 1 national patent. Further, he supervised Post-doctorate, JRF, undergraduate and a Master student’s (MS) on the development of millets, functional foods and food emulsions. He has recognised as one of the Royal Society of Chemistry’s 2023 (UK) outstanding reviewers among 7 members in the world. He serves as an academic editor in Journal of Food Processing and Preservation, Int. Journal of Food Science, Journal of Food Quality, Journal of Nanotechnology and Editorial Board Member for BMC Biotechnology, apart from being a Guest Editor in Environmental Science and Pollution Research, Discover Foods, BMC Chemistry and BMC Nutrition, Springer Nature. He is currently editing a book entitled “Native and Modified Starches for Food Applications” and “Omega-3 and Omega-6 Polyunsaturated Fatty Acids in Food Systems: Advances and Opportunities in Product Formulation, Technology and Delivery” in Elsevier.
Assistant Professor Dr. Tan Choon Hui currently serves as the Head of the Food Science and Nutrition Department at the Faculty of Applied Sciences. She has been with UCSI University since 2009, specializing in food processing and technology. Dr. Tan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science and Food Technology, a PhD in Food Technology, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Tertiary Teaching. She is a Professional Member of the Malaysia Institute of Food Technologists (MIFT) and a full member of the Organization for Women in Science for the Developing World.
Her research focuses on the characterization and utilization of palm oil, food processing, and the development of functional food products, particularly aimed at enhancing the nutritional quality and shelf life of food products. Over the years, Dr. Tan has secured twelve government and institutional research grants and has contributed as a consultant to ten industrial collaboration projects.
Dr. S.V.A.R.Sastry has more than 20 years of teaching and research experience. He was B.Tech Gold Medalist from NIT Jalandhar, M.Tech Silver Medalist from IIT Delhi and got Best Ph.D Thesis Award from JNTU Kakinada. He has authored 12 Patents, 24 International Books in the area of Renewable Energy, Unit Operations & Heat Transfer. He has published more than 70 Research Papers and presented papers in more than 60 International Conferences. He is a Member Scientist of CORE GROUP of Scientists on Tree Borne Oil seeds for promotion, utilization and socio-economic linkages in Southern India. He is a Senior Member of Institution of Engineers, Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers, Indian Desalination Association, International Association of Computer Science and Information Technology and Institute for Engineering Research and Publication. He has been awarded Outstanding reviewer status by Elsevier, U.S. and granted full free access to Scopus by Elsevier, U.S. He is an Editor for five International Journals and Editorial Board member for six International Journals.
His Biography has been published in Marquis Who's Who in the World, 31st, 32nd & 33rd editions consecutively. He got the Andhra Pradesh University Best Teacher Award from JNTU Kakinada for five consecutive years from 2008 to 2013. He is a Recipient of International Awards from IBC, Cambridge, England. He got selected for inclusion in "100 Best Educators of 2014"; "2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century"; "CAMBRIDGE CERTIFICATE for Outstanding Educational Achievement"; and the prestigious "Leading Professionals of the World-2014" by International Biographical Centre (IBC), Cambridge, England.
He is giving consultation in the design and implementation of ‘High Speed Industrial Vaporizer’, ‘Mixing Device for Chemical Absorption Process’ and ‘Exploring Disruptions, Formulations, and Technologies in Lubricant Industry’ to Convetit, U.S. He has given more than 40 Keynote lectures in various International Conferences held at Brazil, Dubai, Spain, China, Canada, Germany, Italy, France and UK. He received the Pillars of the Nation Award for Excellence and Innovation in Education Sector from the Delhi Vidhan Sabha in 2023. He got the Outstanding Alumni Faculty Award from IIT Delhi in 2023. He got the University Research Excellence Award for 2023 and 2024 from HBTU Kanpur. He is selected as Fellow by Institution of Engineers (India) in 2024. He is appointed as ‘Regional Mentor of Change for Uttar Pradesh’ by Atal Innovation Mission, NITI Aayog, GOI, New Delhi in 2024. He was honored with the “Outstanding Leadership in Research and Innovation” Award in the 29 th World Education Summit, New Delhi on 5 th July, 2024. Presently, he is working as the Associate Dean (Research & Development); Deputy Controller of Examinations and University Counsellor at the Harcourt Butler Technical University, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India.
Ts. Dr. Teoh Kok Ban is a dedicated academic and practitioner committed to advancing higher education, human development, and organizational wellbeing. He currently serves as a Senior Lecturer at the National Higher Education Research Institute (IPPTN), Universiti Sains Malaysia, where he integrates research, counselling, and professional training to create meaningful impact within education and society.
He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Organizational Behavior and Development, along with Master’s degrees in Statistics and Counseling. His interdisciplinary background enables him to bridge analytical expertise with human-centered approaches. He is a Professional Technologist registered with the Malaysian Board of Technologists and a Registered Counselor under the Malaysian Board of Counselors.
As an HRD Corp Accredited Trainer, Dr. Teoh actively delivers capacity-building programs, academic-industry collaborations, and professional development workshops. His academic contributions include editorial and peer review roles for indexed journals, and he has received recognitions for excellence in research, scholarly presentation, and academic leadership.
Beyond his academic and professional commitments, Dr. Teoh is dedicated to humanitarian service with a focus on mental health, youth empowerment, and educational equity. He believes that impactful change is achieved through the integration of knowledge, empathy, and purposeful action. This belief continues to guide his work and contributions to the communities he serves.
Prof. Dr. Sandile M.M. Khamanga is the Dean and Head of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Rhodes University, South Africa. He holds a BSc from the University of Swaziland, as well as BPharm, MSc (Pharm), and PhD degrees from Rhodes University. A distinguished academic and researcher, Prof. Khamanga is affiliated with the Swaziland Medical and Dental Council, the Pharmaceutical Society of South Africa, and the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. His teaching spans a wide array of pharmaceutical sciences, including drug formulation, microencapsulation, sterilization, and drug delivery systems. His research focuses on pharmaceutical formulation development, mathematical modeling of drug release kinetics, and advanced techniques like response surface methodology and solid-state characterization. Prof. Khamanga has received several research development grants and has published extensively in international journals on topics such as nanocarrier drug delivery, ocular therapeutics, and environmentally focused pharmaceutical analysis.
Dr. Pahurat has been a dedicated public health professional at Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health since 2001, specializing in infectious disease control and crisis risk communication. She holds a Ph.D. in Medical and Public Health Social Sciences and has led numerous initiatives addressing emerging infectious diseases such as COVID-19, SARS, MERS, and Zika. Currently, she serves as the Director of the Secretariat Office of the Royal Development Projects Committee, focusing on disease prevention and health programs for vulnerable populations, including rural communities and prison inmates. Her work emphasizes health communication, emergency response, and health literacy.
